Hey there,
I was wondering if anyone can offer some insight on menopause. First of all, what exactly is it? When should a woman expect those changes? What are those changes and what can one do to make the transition to midlife easier? Thanks. I really appreciate it.
I had mine in my 40's due to a complete hysterectomy. I didn't notice it that much except for depression in the morning when I first got up, but I also have high blood pressure so just figured I needed to move around to get in a better frame of mind. I did have hot flashes with menopause but just would take a deep breath and ignore it. Got off hormones after a while because my family history is full of breast cancer. Hope this helps.
This is really something you should talk to your doctor about. But having said that, I used to work with people of all ages and knew one woman in her sixties who hadn't hit menopause yet and knew a couple others who went through it in their forties. I remember one person even telling me she stopped having periods in her thirties but never went through the hot flashes and other signs of menopause. So it's different for everyone.
why are you worried about it if your only 24?
Perhaps, she could have a family history of it coming extremely early, which is not unheard of. She did not give us all the details. She just asked a question, and I think it is one that should be answered, as no question is a dumb one.
